Cygnus Cargo Module Virtual Tour.

On November 13th, 2015 NASA offered media access to view the Cygnus Cargo Module at the Kennedy Space Center’s Hazardous Payload Servicing Facility (HPSF) building. The Cygnus Cargo Module, built by Orbital ATK is part of the companies contract with NASA to supply cargo to the International Space Station, following the retirement of the Space Shuttle program a couple years ago.

This will be the 4th mission (OA-4 CRS-4) and the first time Orbital ATK will be using an enhanced Cygnus Module to re-supple the International Space Station. Launching on December 3rd 2015 on an Atlas V rocket in the 401 configuration and launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The enhanced module stands at 21 feet tall with a diameter of 10.1 feet. When carried into space on an Atlas V rocket the enhanced version of the Cygnus Module can carry 3,500 kg or 7,700 lbs.

The mission is set to launch from Space Launch Complex 41 (SLC-41) on December 3rd with a launch window starting at 5:55 p.m. and ending at 6:25 p.m. EST.
