IVRPA 2016 QUEBEC CITY
Quebec 2016 — IVRPA 360° Virtual Reality Panoramic Photography & Video Conference.
Between May 23 -27 Quebec City was the virtual reality capital of the world as over 200 professional videographers and photographers from around the world converged on the historic city for a week long conference. This was the 11th annual International Virtual Reality Photography Association conference, with this being our second time attending the annual conference. These annual meet ups are a great time to learn about all the newest hardware and software getting ready to hit the market, test new cameras and gadgets, such as the Theta 360 camera or the newest Bushman panoramic head.
Google Maps Street View Challenge Quebec City.
This year Google hosted their very first photography competition and will display the images in the Street View App as the first user submitted collection. Google Street View Collections are select images displayed on the internet giants Google Maps website and can be found within the new Street View App for Android and Apple. Some of the more recognizable street view collections would be the Mt Blanc image collection, miniature wonderland, Bruce Wayne’s Mansion and various Coral Reef systems around the globe just to name a few. You can find all the Google Street View special collections on the Google Maps Website.
Here are a couple of 360° panoramic images we submitted to the first ever Google Maps Street View Challenge that was only open to IVRPA members who went to the Quebec City Conference. Click on a thumbnail to view the interactive 360° image.
