Place Royale, Quebec City
Legendary Place Royale is steeped in history. It was here that Samuel de Champlain chose to erect his Abitation, which served as a fort, storehouse, trading post, and residence when he arrived in 1608. It was the first permanent French settlement in North America. Place Royale is also home to Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, the oldest stone church in North America, built in 1688.
Place Royale in 360°
Below are a few 360° images we captured during the IVRPA 2016 conference for the Street View Challenge. You can view the images on your desktop computer, internet connected smart device or you can use a virtual reality headset such as Google Cardboard, Oculus Rift or GearVR for a true immersive feel.
Here is a similar 360° panoramic image we captured above, however we used the cool Ricoh Theta 360 camera from 20ft in the air. The quality from the camera is not as good as our high quality DSLR, yet it gets good results when you don’t want to carry bulky equipment.
